I’ve recently had the incredible opportunity to capture the most magical elopement in the breathtaking Grand Teton National Park. Picture this: a picturesque mountain range stretching as far as the eye can see, crystal-clear lakes reflecting the peaks, and a couple deeply in love, ready to embark on their journey as Mr. and Mrs. It doesn’t get much dreamier than that!

In the world of wedding and elopement photography, couples are constantly seeking unique and breathtaking ways to immortalize their love stories. One trend that has taken the industry by storm is the incorporation of astrophotography (aka night sky photos) into engagement and elopement photos. Imagine exchanging vows under a blanket of stars or stealing a kiss under the Milky Way. In this blog post, we’ll explore the magical world of astrophotography and how it can elevate your engagement or elopement photos to celestial heights.

We kicked off the day at the picturesque Gooseberry Falls, a location that perfectly embodied the couple’s desire for an authentic and whimsical photo shoot. P and T had expressed their dissatisfaction with their wedding photos, feeling they didn’t truly capture their playful and spooky personalities. So, we embarked on a mission to capture their essence in a way that truly resonated with them.

We started our day surrounded by the majestic redwoods in Jedediah Smith State Park. As the sun filtered through the mists between the towering trees, K and H donned their more relaxed outfits, with K captivating everyone’s gaze in her stunning teal dress. We wandered through the woodland, soaking in the mystical atmosphere and indulging in some passionate Star Wars conversations. It was a dreamy start to an enchanting day.

I met up with A + J at Gooseberry Falls to start off their engagement session. After that, we headed to the majestic cliffs of Palisade Head, the black beach, and we ended at Split Rock lighthouse for some astrophotography. Being gay myself, it was a delight to shoot this LGBTQ+ couple!
